Both free sessions were held on Thursday. The Vitaphone Maserati were fastest during the free sessions with respectively 1st and 5th and 1st and 4th in the rankings. The Bartels-Scheider-van de Poele car was fastest on each occasion in 2.18.012 and 2.16.680.

Main competition came from the GLPK-Corvette and the Larbre Ferrari of Vosse and Mollekens.

Both Aston-Martin were reliable and constant but stayed somewhat behind the frontrunners. Best Prodrive performance came from the #29 of Goossens in 2.18.163.

In GT2 Gruppe M really dominated its class. The gap with the third car, the Autorlando Porsche was respectively 7 and 5 seconds.

The main victim of the free sessions was Eric Cayrolle. The French driver went of the track with the SRT-Corvette in the closing stages of the first stages and the C5-R did not get back on track for the second session.

In the national class, the fight was between the Force One Viper and the Penders Porsche, both taking the spoils once. Mühlner, as expected, was quickest in the G3.

The unpredictable weather made it difficult for the teams to foresee the right set-up.
